This charming 17th Century barn sits in the village of Lockton, between Pickering and Whitby in the North York Moors. It has been "Rated EXCELLENT" by TripAdvisor in 2012 and awarded" 3 Stars" by Visit Britain.
Lockton lies in an enviable position within the beautiful North York Moors National Park, midway between the glorious moorland and also Dalby Forest, with access to both via footpaths. It is perfect for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
The Little Barn and garden
The Little Barn is full of character and has many original features. There is a large peaceful garden, which
is well stocked with flowers and shrubs.
Old apple trees
adorn the lawn which leads up to the stableyard where there is off road parking.
Lockton has a sister village of Levisham, just a mile away.
The North York Moors Railway calls at Levisham Station and you can travel by steam train to the coast and back.
Looking across to Levisham from Lockton Brow. Lockton village is a pretty one, with mellow stone walls and sash windows, and has a church and chapel, and a shop. There are two local Inns, both within a mile of The Little Barn. One is at Levisham, "The Horseshoe" and the other, "The Fox and Rabbit" lies at the end of a pleasant lane leading from our stableyard Both of the Inns provide excellent lunchtime and evening meals
